2nd C. 1:1-11. 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the sovereign pleasure, will and design of God, and brother Timothy. To the assembly of God residing in Corinth, together with all the saints residing in all Achaia: 2 sanctifying grace to you all, and tranquilizing peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

3 Blessed (be) the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of gracious mercies, and God of all encouragement and consolation — 4 the One encouraging and consoling us during all of our distressing affliction, in order to enable us all to console and encourage those in every distressing affliction by means of the consolation and encouragement with which we ourselves are being consoled and encouraged by God. 5 For inasmuch as the affliction and suffering of Christ is abounding in us, so also is abounding through Christ our encouragement and consolation. 6 But whether we are being distressed and afflicted (it is) for the furtherance of your encouragement and consolation and salvation and deliverance — the self-same being instinctive with “action in operation” while (you are) undergoing and enduring the same afflictions and sufferings which we also are suffering and enduring — 7 and our confident expectation concerning you all (is) well founded, knowing absolutely that just as you all are sharers and partakers of the afflictions and sufferings (we experience), so also (are you sharers and partakers) of the encouragement and consolation.

8 For we are not wanting you to misunderstand, brothers, concerning our distressing circumstances, trials and afflictions — those things happening of late to us in Asia — that we received an extraordinary amount of calamities for the furtherance of (our) efficacy. Consequently we even began to inordinately despair of life. 9 Yes, we ourselves have been subjected to the judicial sentence of death upon ourselves, (but) with the present result that we survived, having trusted not upon ourselves, but upon God — the One raising the dead — 10 who himself drew us all out of a death so great, and (who) is continually dragging us (out of death), upon whom we have confidently hoped and trusted with the present result that he will even yet rescue (us from death)11 and all of you also, (who are) together rendering services for prayer on our behalf, so that by many persons the free favor given us may be made a matter of thankfulness (given) through many on our behalf.

2nd C. 7:5-16. 5 For indeed, (in) our coming into Macedonia, our flesh had had no rest, ease or peace with the result that we are still exhausted — in fact, (we were) being pressed, squeezed and hemmed in by everything: from outside — contentious disputes, striving controversies and struggles: from within — fearsome terrors. 6 However, God, the One comforting the low and depressed, comforted us with the arrival of Titus, 7 and not only with his presence, but also with the cheering and supporting influence (of the) consoling comfort which he received in the presence of you all, reporting back to us your strong affection and earnest desire, your sorrow and mourning, your ardent zealous affection over me, so that I became even more joyful. 8 For even if I distressed you all with that (second) letter — no repentance, no regret — even if I was regretting. For (I) perceive that that letter distressed you with grief and sorrow — even if for a while. 9 Now I rejoice — not that you all were distressed — but that you were distressed to the extent of repentance. For you were distressed into the direction of God, so that you all might suffer not (even) one detrimental loss among us. 10 For painful distress into the direction of God is producing a change in mode of thought and feeling — repentance — a reversal in accordance with enduring salvation (that is) not to be repented of; but the distress of the world is producing (spiritual) death. 11 For notice this very thing: how much it effectively brought out your experience of godly grief and sorrow; your diligent, earnest application (to the matter): in fact, defense against a charge; yea, indignation; certainly awed deference; indeed, earnest, strong desire; still more, ardent, zealous affection; even judicial satisfaction. In all you evinced yourselves to be blamelessly innocent in this matter. 12 Therefore, although I wrote to you all, not on account of the one being unjustly wronged, nor on account of the one wronging, but for our diligently urgent earnestness over you all to be evinced toward you in the eyes of God, 13 for this reason we have been cheered and comforted over your joyful gladness with the present result that we are rejoicing. And we have received even more intense joy over the bliss of Titus, because his spirit has been caused to rest with refreshment originating from all of you with the present result that he is now refreshed. 14 For if I have boasted to him over you all in anything with the present result that you are glorified, I get no shame. And according as we declared all things to all of you in truth, even so our boasting in the presence of Titus was established as truth. 15 And his tender affections for you all are greater, himself remembering the submissiveness of you all, how with fear, amazement, awe, reverential veneration and trembling solicitude you all received him. 16 Therefore I gladly rejoice that I am confidently hoping because of you in everything.

2nd C. 2:14-17. 14 Now grateful thanks (be given) to God for always rendering us conspicuous, for causing us at all times to triumph in Christ, and for revealing through us the fragrance of the applicable experiential knowledge of him in every place. 15 Because of Christ we are an aroma for God among those accepting/receiving the way of salvation, and among those accepting/receiving the way of negating deprivation: 16 to one group, the stench of death in accordance with death, and to the (other) group, the fragrance of life in accordance with life. And who (is) competent and adequately qualified for the benefit of these? 17 For we are not corruptly adulterating and profitably marketing the word of God as the masses (do); but we are speaking as out of pure sincerity and integrity; we are speaking as out of God in the presence and sight of God before Christ.

2nd C. 3:1-18. 1 Are we ourselves again starting to recommend ourselves to favorable attention? Or are we making use of/employing, as some (that have need), recommendatory letters to you or commendatory letters from you? Not! 2 You are our letter, having been imprinted upon our hearts, having been acknowledged, and having been read, discerned and recognized by all people; 3 for you are a letter of Christ, being opened up and set out in a clear light, being administered by us, having been imprinted, not with black ink, but with God’s living Spirit; not (chiseled) upon tablets of stone but upon fleshy tablets (of the) heart.

4 Now we are holding such confident trust and reliance through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are fitly qualified and ably sufficient merely of ourselves to set down anything (of account) as (if) from out of ourselves (as a source), but our fit qualification and able sufficiency (is) from out of God (as a source), 6 who has also made us sufficient, competent, qualified administrators of a new covenant, not (one) of (the) bare literal sense (of the Mosaic Law) but (one) of (the) Spirit; for (the) letter (of the Law of Moses) is killing (through spiritual damnation), but the Spirit is quickening with salvific life.

7 Now if the administration of death in writing, having been chiseled upon stone, was established in glory so that the sons of Israel were unable to look into the face of Moses because of the fading radiance of his countenance being tapered off to an end, 8 how will the administration of the Spirit not rather be (more radiant) in glory? 9 For if the administration of condemnation (had) glory, the administration of righteousification (is) to a much greater extent over and above (it) in glory. 10 For indeed that having received glory has not been (overly) glorified with the present result that it is eclipsed in this respect: on account of the surpassing glory. 11 For if that being brought to an end (radiated) with glory, that remaining permanently (radiates to a) much greater extent in glory.

12 Therefore, possessing such confidence, we are using much openness and great frankness — 13 not like Moses (who) was putting a veil over his own face in order that the sons of Israel could not gaze intently at the tail end of that fading away. 14 But their intellects/minds became calloused and un-impressible. For until the present (time) the same veil remains over the reading of the Old Testament — remaining undisclosed (to them) — which thing is being removed in Christ. 15 But until this day, when Moses is being read, a veil is lying upon their heart. 16 However whenever one can turn toward the Lord and be converted, the veil is being lifted off/removed (from their heart). 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Lord’s Spirit (is), there in that place liberty/freedom is present. 18 And we all, having been unveiled from before, having reflected in a mirror the Lord’s glory, are undergoing transformation (into) the same image, from (our) glory into (his) glory, just as derived from (the) origin of (the) Lord’s Spirit.

2nd C. 4:1-18. 1 With a view toward this, regarding or being affected by this ministry, inasmuch as we have received compassionate pity, gracious favor, saving mercy, pardon and forgiveness, we are not being remiss or indolent. 2 But we ourselves have renounced, disclaimed and disallowed the shameless clandestine secrets of dishonorable conduct: not walking in cunning craftiness nor corruptly adulterating the word of God for to falsely entrap or beguile, but for the evidentially clear display of the sincere love of truth, placing ourselves together with, and for the benefit of, every person’s conscience in the presence of God. 3 But if in fact our good news is being hidden/concealed, it is being hidden/concealed in plain sight among those (who are) perishing, 4 of whom the God of this age has rendered blind the intellectual mind and understanding of the faithless and unbelieving, to the extent that they discern not the effulgence of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the exact representative image of God. 5 For we are not proclaiming ourselves (Lord), but Christ Jesus Lord, and ourselves your slaves on account of Jesus, 6 because (it is) the God saying “light will shine after darkness” who shined in our hearts according to effulgent illumination of the enlightenment of the glory of God in the person of Jesus Christ.

7 Now we are keeping/holding this precious deposit in earthen vessels, in order that the transcendently extraordinary character of the effective manifestation of power might be of God and not of us. 8 (We are) distressed and afflicted in all, but not being cooped up in straights; (we) ourselves (are) being perplexed and hesitant, but not being in utmost perplexity and despair for ourselves; 9 (we are) being pursued and persecuted, but not being left (as) forsaken and abandoned; (we) ourselves (are) being prostrated, but not being put to death, killed or obliterated — 10 (we are) always carrying around in the body the death of the Lord Jesus, so that the life of (the Lord) Jesus may also be plainly laid bare in our body. 11 For we, the living, are forever being delivered up with Jesus to the point of death, in order that the life of Jesus may also be clearly brought to light and manifested in true character through our mortal flesh. 12 Therefore, this death is actively operating in us — developing itself; and that life (is actively operating) in you — (developing itself). 13 Now being furnished with, affected by, possessing and retaining the same spirit of faith, after the similitude of that having been written, “I believed, on which account therefore I spoke,” we also are believing, and on this account, therefore, we are speaking, 14 assuredly knowing that the One having raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also through the agency of Jesus, and will present (us to God) together with you all. 15 For all things (are) for the sake of you all, in order that the freely given benefit of gracious favor, spreading more widely through the majority, may cause thanksgiving to proliferate with a view toward the glorification of God.

16 Therefore we are not slothfully indolent (nor) despondently losing heart. Even more: if in fact our external, outward man is being systematically ruined, utterly destroyed and wasted with decay, yet our internal, inward mind/soul/spirit/being is receiving invigorating renewal every day, day by day. 17 For the immediate, momentary, transient, lightness of our distressing circumstance/trying pressure/crushing affliction — excessively overshooting into transcendence — is effectively producing and working out for us as a result an eternal, abundantly full and exceedingly weighted (future) glorification; 18 (and we are) considering not the things being seen of us, but the things being unseen. For those things being seen (are) transient, limited and temporary, but those things being unseen (are) eternal.

2nd C. 5:1-21. 1 Now we know absolutely that if our earthly tabernacle/terrestrial tent/bodily abode should be dismantled or taken down, we are being readily furnished with a permanent (spiritual) structure from God, an eternal abode (for the soul) in the heavens, not made or built with (temporal) hands. 2 For in this (body) we are indeed sighing and groaning, earnestly longing and desiring to additionally put on ourselves our (personal) abode (for the soul) from heaven; 3 and at least if having (so) clothed ourselves, we will not be met unclothed. 4 For being in fact confined to this (corporeal) tent/tabernacle we are sighing and groaning, accepting/receiving (the above) calamities. Wherefore, we are not wanting to strip ourselves, but to further dress ourselves, so that the mortality might be soaked up by the agency of life. 5 Now God (is) the One having worked/molded us into fitness for this very thing — the One also giving us the earnest/down-payment of the Spirit.

6 Therefore, (we are) at all times hopeful, ever confident, and always of good courage, knowing absolutely that dwelling at home in the body we are absent from (our permanent spiritual) structure of the Lord — 7 for we are walking by faith, not by visual perception. 8 We are courageously confident, yea, we are rather esteeming it better to vacate from out of the body and to travel to the Lord. 9 On this account, therefore, we are earnestly endeavoring, using utmost effort, whether dwelling at home (in the body) or traveling (to the Lord), to be well-pleasing, grateful and acceptable to him. 10 For we all must be laid bare and appear in true character in front of the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one separately can receive/obtain for himself the things (earned) while in the state of the body, according to and in conformity with what he has practiced, done, or performed, whether profitable or unprofitable.

11 Absolutely knowing, therefore, the awful, amazing, fearsome terror of the Lord, we are convincingly and conciliatingly persuading men; also we have been laid bare to God with the present result that we appear transparent in true character, and we confidently expect to have been transparently laid bare to your several impressionable consciences also. 12 Now we obviously are not recommending ourselves to you all again, but giving to you all an opportune occasion of boasting concerning us, in order that you may be furnished with (true boasting) for the benefit of those boasting in a circumstance of external show, while not referring to the inner heart. 13 For whether we have been nuts for God, or we are calming, (we are so) for you. 14 For the sacrificial loving care of Christ is exercising a constraining influence over us, having discerned this: that since One has died in the furtherance and maintenance of all (believers), then all (believers) have died (with Christ); 15 and he has died in the furtherance and maintenance of all (believers), so that those (believers), living, may live/are living no more/no longer for themselves, but for the One having died, and having been raised up again, for them alone.

16 Consequently, from the present time we knowingly regard no one according to a material mode. But even if we have knowingly ascertained Christ by examination according to a material mode with the present result that we have reinforced, empirical, experiential knowledge of him, yet presently we are ascertaining (him) by examination (that way) no more/no longer. 17 Therefore, if a person (is) in the person of Christ, (they are) a new creation (in a spiritual mode); the former, old, long-standing “all” have passed (with Christ); see for yourself: (they) have come into existence newly renovated (in mode) with the present result that they live for Christ. 18 Now the “all” (are born) out of God as a source — the One having reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ — even having given to us the ministry of reconciliation. 19 As it were, God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not imputing to them their faults, trespasses, offenses and transgressions, even having committed to us severally for his purpose the word of reconciliation.

20 Therefore, we are performing the duties of an ambassador on behalf of Christ, like as of God exhorting and admonishing by means of us: we are imploring on behalf of Christ, “Be reconciled to God.” 21 For he made the One having known no sin, sin in our stead, so that we can assume the character and appearance of God’s righteousness in him.

2nd C. 6:1-10. 1 And working together we also are exhorting and imploring you all not to receive the magnanimous, gracious, opportune endowment of God to no purpose. 2 For he is saying: “ For a limited period of propitious time in fitting circumstances I listened and heard you with favor; and in an opportune day of salvific deliverance I advanced to assist you. Lo! Now (is) a gracious time; Lo! Now (is) an opportune day of salvation.” 3 Giving not one ground for exception (we are) accompanied by shocking offense to no one, so that our service (in the good news) may not be faulted or censured with blame, 4 but (we are) in everything prominently recommending ourselves to favorable attention as preachers, ministers and servants executing a commission of God by undergoing and enduring great suffering: in pressing affliction and distressing circumstances, in trials of necessity, in compressed dire straits, 5 in lashings, in imprisonments, in tumultuous riots, in unpleasant weariness due to vexing labors, in restless insomnias, in hunger pains, 6 in purity, in knowledge, in clemency and forbearance, in beneficent gentle kindness, in spirit: separated and pure, in selfless loving care: unfeigned and sincere, 7 in word: of truth, in power: of God, through the weapons of righteousness of the right hand and of the left hand, 8 through dignified pomp and mean vileness, through verbal reproach and favorable commendation; as deceiving imposters, and (yet) truly worthy of credit; 9 as sinfully ignorant, and (yet) having a discerned and acknowledged character; as dying, and behold, we are living; as being chastened or flogged, and (yet) not being subdued and put to death; 10 as painfully grieved and sorrowful, yet forever gladly rejoicing; as mendicant and poor, yet enriching many; as having nothing, and (yet) having all things in full and secure possession.

2nd C. 1:12-24. 12 For our boast is this: the evident testimony of our conscience — that we lived and conducted ourselves in the material world, even more earnestly toward you all, with (the) pure, simple sincerity and clear, ingenuous integrity of God — not by means of a carnal human wisdom and enlightenment — but by means of a commission graciously devolved of God. 13 For we are not writing alternate things to you all except what you are reading with recognition and discernment or (what you are) ascertaining from preliminaries with perspicacity and understanding. And I trust that you all will yourselves also perceive, recognize and understand (us) to total completion — 14 even as you all have comprehended us to date in some incomplete part or measure — that we are boasting of you, even as you all also (will be boasting) of us, in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 And in this confident reliance and trust, I was intending to come to you all earlier, in order that you all might have a second beneficial opportunity — 16 and to pass over by way of you into Macedonia, and to come again from Macedonia to you, and to be sent on ahead by you on my journey into Judea. 17 Now then, deliberating, determining, purposing and planning this for myself, I myself employed not any levity then. Or what I am deliberating for myself: am I deliberating for myself according to mere human fashion in order that both “Yes, Yes” and “No, No” may be inconsistently with me? 18 But God (is) trusty and faithful that our word to you has not become (both) “Yes” and “No.” 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, the One being publicly proclaimed by us among you all — by me, Silvanus and Timothy — has not become “Yes” and “No,” but has become “Yes” in him, presently resulting in positive affirmation. 20 In fact, all who promised favors and blessings of God — in him, (is) the “Yes,” and in him, (is) the “Amen” — for the benefit of praise, glorification and honor to God through/by means of us. 21 Now God (is) the One establishing us, confirming (us), and rendering (us) stable together with you in Christ, and (the One) anointing us, 22 and the One having sealed us with his own mark of acceptance, and (the One) having given (us) the earnest/down-payment of the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge or guarantee.

23 Now I am calling upon God as witness for myself upon my soul that to spare you I came no more into Corinth — 24 not that we are lording it over your faith — but (that) we are fellow-laborers of your joy; certainly, you all have stood for the Faith.

2nd C. 2:1-13. 1 But I determined this for myself with resolve: not to come again to you in grief and sorrow. 2 For if I am grieving you, who is the one gladdening me if not the one also receiving grief and sorrow from me? 3 And I wrote this very thing to you all, lest should I come, I would have sorrow, grief, pain and distress from those who were necessary to joy me, having confidently impressed upon you all that my joy is all of you. 4 For out of great distressing affliction and mental anxiety of heart I wrote to you all, with many tears, not that you all might be grieved, but that you all might assuredly know, understand and acknowledge the exceedingly devoted love, care and concern which (I) have for you all.

5 Now if anyone has occasioned pain and distress presently resulting in grief and sorrow, he has not painfully distressed me so that I am grieving and sorrowful, but by some imperfect part or measure all of you — lest I should lean too severely. 6 This censuring penalty or punishment inflicted by the majority (is) befittingly sufficient for the one alluded to 7 so that, on the contrary, you all ought rather to forgive and restore to fellowship the one alluded to lest he should be in any way consumed and ruined with excessive sorrow and grief. 8 Therefore I am calling you all along side to assure and reaffirm love and concern for him; 9 for I also wrote to this end: that I might ascertain through examining proof of you by putting you to the test, whether you all are obediently submissive in all things; 10 and for whom you are forgiving/remitting anything, I do too. For I, in fact, if I have forgiven anyone presently resulting in restoration, I have forgiven them for your sakes in the presence of Christ resulting in present restoration, 11 lest we should be exploited and bested by Satan, the adversary; for we are not ignorant of his thoughts, purposes and devices.

12 Now when I did come into Troas for the good news of Christ — indeed a door having been opened for me before (the) Lord — 13 I had experienced no restful tranquility or relaxing peace for my spirit for my inability to find my brother Titus; however, bidding them farewell and taking my leave, I just departed for Macedonia.

2nd C. 9:1-5. 1 Especially concerning the relief aid for the saints it is superfluous for me to write to you all; 2 for I know absolutely your ready willingness, over which I am boasting of you to Macedonians that ‘Achaia has been prepared back last year with the present result that you all are ready;’ and your zeal stimulated and incited the majority. 3 Yet I dispatched the brethren — lest our laudatory testimony about you all should be shown to be without foundation in this respect — to ensure, according as I have said, you all were being made ready, 4 lest if by any means Macedonians should come with me and should find you all unprepared, we — in order that we might not mention you all — would be embarrassed for engaging in this assumed vouching and act of glorying. 5 Therefore I considered (it) properly necessary to exhort the brothers that they should go forth to you in advance, and that they should prepare, make ready and complete your benevolence, having been previously announced to be ready beforehand, thus, as a benevolent gift, and not like as a grudgingly conferred obligation exacted by importunity.

2nd C. 8:16-24. 16 And thankful appreciation to God for placing the same earnest concern for you all into the heart of Titus; 17 for he not only embraced the exhortation, but being proactive, he spontaneously went out to you all of his own accord. 18 And we sent with him the brother whose approval (is) in the (habitual) preaching of the good news through all of the churches. 19 And not only (that) but also being elected our missionary companion by the churches, (he is to go) with this gift being administered by our hand to the credit of the Lord himself, and your alacrity of mind; 20 withdrawing ourselves lest anyone should find fault with us in the case of this abundance being administered by us — 21 applying ourselves, striving to exhibit morals, not only in the presence of (the) Lord, but also in the presence of men. 22 And we sent with them our brother whom we proved many times (as) being earnestly proactive in much, but now even much more earnestly proactive — great, trustworthy reliability for you all. 23 Whether concerning Titus — my partner and fellow-laborer for you — or our brothers — apostles of churches — (each is) a dignitary or manifestation of Christ. 24 Therefore you all openly display among them — and in the presence of the churches — proof of your love, and of our boasting in behalf of you all.

2nd C. 8:1-15. 1 Moreover, brothers, we are making known to you all the grace of God being bestowed upon the churches of Macedonia: 2 for that in great proof by a distressing trial of affliction, the superabundance of their joy — yet according to the extreme degree of their poverty — abounded in the copiousness of their genuine liberality. 3 For I can testify/I am bearing witness, that according to ability, yes, even spontaneously choosing voluntary action beyond ability — (they were) themselves 4 begging us with much earnest, importune entreaty (for) us to receive their generous gift, and the joint fellowship of the relief aid contribution for the use of the saints — 5 and not in the manner that we expected, but they first offered themselves in sacrifice to the Lord, and (then) to us while subject to the will of God. 6 With respect to our call upon Titus, seeing how he began previously, under such circumstances he should complete this charitable act for you also. 7 But just as you all are richly abounding in everything — faith, and word, and knowledge, and all earnest diligence, and in your love for us — so you all should abound in this grace also.

8 I speak not by injunction, but through the earnest diligence of others (I am) sounding or testing the sincerity of your love. 9 For you are ascertaining the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ by learning that being rich, he became poor for the sake of you all, so that through his poverty you all might be enriched (spiritually/materially). 10 And in this (light) I offer suggestion or advice: indeed this is appropriate for you: not only to be willing but also to be doing what you all began earlier from last year. 11 And now, to put (this) in execution you all must also bring (giving) to final fruition in order that, even as the readiness of the will (flowered), so also the results (are) to be furnished with resultant fruit. 12 For if the willing mind is present, (it is) pleasingly acceptable — in proportion as whatever a person might have; not in proportion as he is not having. 13 For (I wish) not that others be eased and you hard-pressed, 14 but for equality of an equal proportion in the course of the present time: your superabundance for their need; so also their superabundance may be for your need — in order that equality can exist — 15 inasmuch as it has been written with the present result that it stands, “The satiated had no more, and the needy had no less.”

2nd C. 9:6-15. 6 And (also) this: “The one sowing parsimoniously will also reap parsimoniously; and the one sowing with a view toward liberality will also reap with a view toward (that) liberality.” 7 Each one separately (should give) according as the heart is purposing or considerately intending: not of coercive emotional constraint, nor of pressured compulsory necessity; for God is delightfully setting store upon an ungrudging, cheerful giver. 8 And God (is) able to cause all grace to be abundant among you all, so that, always possessing total competence in all of the necessities of life, you all might richly abound to the extent of every good work, 9 inasmuch as it has been written with the present result that it stands: “He liberally gave; he gave to the poor and needy; his integrity will endure/is enduring for the age.” 10 Now may the One supplying/furnishing seed for the sowing, and necessary bread for the act of eating, supply/furnish funds, and augment/multiply your seed, and grow/increase the fruits of your generous alms, 11 (you) being enriched in totality for all (your) liberality, while it is causing the giving of thanks by means of us to God. 12 For the administration of this kind relief aid is not only meeting the needs of the saints, but is also proliferating through many acts of thanksgiving to God — 13 through the proof by trial of this ministry, glorifying God in dependence upon the submissiveness of your profession of the good news of Christ, and for (your) liberality of fellowship toward them and toward all, 14 and for their prayer for you all — having affection for you all, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. 15 Indeed, thanks (be) to God for his verbally indescribable/inexpressible gift!

1st C. 11:2-34. 2 Now I am praising, commending and applauding you all, brothers, that you have been mindful of all of my (instructions) until now in all respects, and (that) you all are maintaining the transmitted precepts, doctrines and ordinances as I delivered them to you. 3 Additionally I would have you all to know absolutely that the One to whom every man is subordinate is Christ; and the leader of a wife: the husband; and the head of Christ: God. 4 Every man offering prayer or preaching having (the hair) of his head fashioned down about — having long hair — is dishonoring his Head. 5 And every woman praying or preaching with her head uncovered — having short hair — is dishonoring her own head: for it is one and the same (as) having been altogether shorn; 6 then, if a woman is not accepting a covering (of long hair), let her shave herself: but since it is disgraceful, vile, dishonorable, indecent and ugly for a woman to shear, shave or otherwise cut off the hair (thereby effacing) herself, let her be covered (with hair). 7 Yet on the other hand a man is obligated to allow his head to remain (relatively) uncovered, being in possession of the representative likeness and appearance of God: but a woman is identified by (comparison to) a man. 8 For (as with Adam and Eve) a man is not from a woman; but a woman (is) from a man. 9 Neither has a man been created through the woman; but a woman through the man. 10 Therefore, for this cause, the woman is obligated to keep a proper covering (of hair) upon her head for the sake of the messengers. 11 Nevertheless, not even man (is) on a distinct footing from woman, neither (is) woman distinctly apart from man in the Lord: 12 for just as the woman (came) out of the man (in the garden of Eden), so also the man (comes) through the woman (by birth); yet all things (proceed or emanate) from God. 13 You all judge or decide among yourselves: is it becoming, proper and fitting for a woman to pray to God uncovered (with hair)? 14 Is not even innate, native instinct itself teaching you all that if a man should wear the hair long it is indecorum for him? 15 But if a woman should have long hair, it is to her glory: because a head of long hair has been given to her in place of a hat/covering with the present result that it covers and beautifies. 16 But if anyone is appearing to be disputatious, we are not subject to this kind or sort of practice or established custom (i.e. women with short hair), neither (are) the churches of God.

17 Now announcing this: I am not praising, commending and applauding (you) because you are not coming together/communing for the better, but for the worse. 18 For one — primarily concerning your gathering in the assembly: I hear and understand there to be splits among you; and I in some part can believe (it). 19 In fact it is inevitable (for) contentious factions to exist among you all so that the approved among you may conspicuously stand out. 20 Now then, upon assembling together in one and the same place, it is not to eat (the) Lord’s supper: 21 for each one is separately taking his own supper in advance for to eat: and one is hungering, and another is drunk. 22 In fact don’t you all have houses in order to eat and drink? Or are you all slighting the Church of God, and embarrassing those getting nothing? What shall I say to you all? Shall I praise you all in this? I am praising not! 23 Now I have received from the Lord (that) which I have also delivered to you all: that the Lord Jesus, during the dark night in which he was receiving betrayal, took up bread: 24 and giving thanks, he broke it, and said, “Take, eat: this is my body being (violently) broken on your behalf: practice this with a view toward my commemoration/in remembrance of me.” 25 And after that, in just the same way or manner, he also took the cup to sup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant on the ground of my blood: practice this as often as you are drinking it, with a view toward my commemoration/in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you all should eat this particular (type of) bread, and should drink this cup, you all are celebrating the death of the Lord until (such a time) as he should come. 27 Therefore, whoever should eat this particular (type of) bread, or should drink the cup of the Lord in an improper manner, will be an offender against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 So let a man assay himself, and in this way let him eat of the bread, and let him drink of the cup. 29 For the one eating and drinking (these) in an improper manner (i.e. without reverence), is eating and drinking for himself a judicial visitation of divine discipline (for) not making a distinction concerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this cause many among you all are weak and sick, and a considerable number are passing away. 31 For if we were continually scrutinizing and examining ourselves, we would not have been receiving judicial visitation. 32 Yea we are being judicially visited — we are being chastened by (the) Lord so that we might not be condemned with the world. 33 Therefore, my brethren, (when) coming together in order to eat (the elements), you all wait for one another. 34 And if anyone is hungering, let him or her eat at home, in order that you all should not come together to a judgment of divine discipline. And the rest remaining I will personally set in order whenever I can come.

2nd C. 13:11-14. 11 Finally, brothers, you all rejoice! You all be completely knit together in unity and thoroughly adjusted to completeness. You all be comforted. You all be objective. You all cultivate peace, and the God of caring devoted generosity and tranquilizing peace will be with you all. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.

13 All the saints are saluting you. 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (be) with all of you all. Amen.
